Work Life

What do you love most about your role as Audit and Assurance Specialist at Caldwell Penn?

I enjoy the challenges of working with a variety of clients in different industries on a day-by-day basis. It's really satisfying to feel a sense of purpose which comes with addressing all the necessary test areas to reach a conclusion on the audit and proceed with completion.

What’s the most rewarding part of working with clients?

Audit is often deemed an onerous task, so it is really rewarding to simplify the process for clients and develop a rapport with their team.

Describe your typical workday in three words.

Purpose, collaboration, problem-solving

What’s one thing you appreciate most about the team at Caldwell Penn?

Regardless of seniority, everyone is approachable and helps each other to achieve a common goal.

How does Caldwell Penn support your professional growth?

Caldwell Penn provides opportunities if you have a particular area of interest or specialism you'd like to pursue.

Beyond the Desk

What’s something about you that might surprise people?

As a child, I loved making teddy bears and spent hours knitting and exploring all things haberdashery. A far cry from audit, but great training for attention to detail.

What’s a recent show, book, or podcast you’d recommend?

I love a good thriller book, and Lisa Jewell is one of my favourite authors. Most recently, The Night She Disappeared was a real page turner which I didn’t want to put down.

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?

I love being creative in my spare time: painting, upcycling, flower pressing, scrapbooking, sewing, baking (though probably a jack of all trades and master of none). It's a dying skill but I would love to master calligraphy.

Do you have a favourite travel destination or dream location to visit?

I would love to travel from the North to the South of Japan during Sakura season.

What’s one thing on your bucket list?

I've always been an early bird and love seeing the sunrise, even on holiday. So, I would love to take a sunrise hot air balloon trip in the countryside to really experience that.
