Work Life

What do you love most about your role as Client Finance Partner at Caldwell Penn?

The flexibility. My role allows me to balance my workload effectively while ensuring I can deliver the best service to our clients. Having the freedom to approach my work in a way that suits both the team and myself makes a big difference in productivity and job satisfaction.

How did you start your journey in accounting?

I graduated from Bournemouth University with a Business Studies degree, which included an accounting module. That module really sparked my interest, and from that point on, I never looked back.

What’s the most rewarding part of working with clients?

Seeing our clients' businesses grow and succeed is incredibly rewarding. Helping them navigate challenges and being a trusted advisor during both the highs and the lows is what makes this job fulfilling. There is no better feeling than knowing that the work we do directly contributes to their success.

What’s your go-to productivity hack?

I always make a to-do list the day before. Having a clear plan helps me hit the ground running, and there is something incredibly satisfying about crossing off tasks as the day progresses.

What’s one thing you appreciate most about the team at Caldwell Penn?

The sense of teamwork. We are all in it together, and I know I can rely on every single person in the firm. That level of trust and collaboration makes a huge difference.

How does Caldwell Penn support your professional growth?

The firm is always encouraging continuous learning. Whether it is suggesting new courses to develop my skills or providing opportunities for career progression, there is a real emphasis on helping everyone grow and reach their full potential.

Beyond the Desk

What’s something about you that might surprise people?

I am currently learning computer programming. It is a completely different challenge from accounting, but I love problem-solving and working with technology.

What’s your favourite way to unwind outside of work?

Watching football, especially watching the Toon (Newcastle United).

Tea, coffee, or something else to keep you fuelled?

I am a firm believer that a hearty bowl of porridge in the morning is the perfect way to keep you fuelled throughout the day.

Do you have a favourite travel destination or dream location to visit?

I would love to visit New Zealand and see the Lord of the Rings Shire movie set. Spending a day completely nerding out there would be incredible.
